Palo Santo (holy wood) is one of my most favorite medicinal and magical helpers. It’s very powerful for any kind of spiritual work, energy work, magical work, and medicinal needs.
Burserea graveolens (botanical name) is a natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
It can be used to treat a number of ailments such as colds, flu, skin infections, wounds, flexibility, coughs, allergies, asthma, dermatitis, acne, panic attacks, anxiety, headaches, migraines, reduce tension, sprains and other injuries, relieve pain, control convulsions, and a natural mosquito repellent!
On a mental level Palo Santo is used to uplift the mood, assist with depression, calms the mind, deepens meditation, enhances concentration, promotes creativity and learning, and eases worry.
If more people knew how to use this wood medicinally the drugstores would be out of business...hehehe
In spiritual practices Palo Santo can be used to clear away negative energy while at the same time attracting good luck. It can also be used for purification, cleansing, remove spirits, end misfortune, attract fortune, end bad luck, remove curses, hexes, spells and other spiritual conditions.
When I feel a little drained from being around too much negativity I’ll bath with some of this wood. It can be placed in your tub water and before getting out the wood is rubbed over the body. Presto! The negativity is removed and drains away with the water. It’s even believed that Merlin’s magical staff was made Palo Santo...hmmmm figure that.

I love the scent of Palo Santo! I regularly burn it in ritual.
I've searched for Santo Palo or Holy Wood for 2 yrs. It is more powerful than White Sage which is a temporary clearing, more powerful than Sweet Grass ~ which I was told would banish negativity and found it worked better than White Sage but did not truly remove it. Santo Palo wood is the most powerful and truly does remove the negativity. It smells wonderful and reverses misfortune as well as opening and bringing in financial abundance and positive opportunities! Soothing your soul.
