i didnt know where else to place this question, so i just thought the most recent post would be fine?
anyways...i recently got a crucifix for christmas. and im thinking of using it for my ancestoral altar? or just put it on my regular altar...
but i was wondering if there is something i should do to cleanse, bless it? i know many ways to do this, like you know theres a lot of ways lol... but i was wondering if theres something specific?
can i offer it smoke? inscent smoke? rum? or something else?

If it was me adding it to my ancestral altar, I would cleanse the crucifix with holy herbs such as hyssop or a combination of hyssop, frankincense and myrrh. I like to stick with the typical “holy herbs” when it comes to cleansing a crucifix. Also if you are going to place it on the ancestor altar I would do a dedication prayer and offer the crucifix to your ancestors for their guidance and for their progression in the spirit world.
